ACA Foundation Awards Presidential Scholarship
The American College of Apothecaries Research and Education Foundation presented the Presidential Scholarship for Academic and Leadership Excellence to Derrick Waller at the 2017 Veterinary Compounding Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. Waller is a 4th year Pharmacy Student at Regis University School of Pharmacy, Denver, Colorado.
The Presidential Scholarship for Academic and Leadership Excellence is awarded by the American College of Apothecaries Research and Education Foundation to a student with a demonstrated interest in independent pharmacy, who shows leadership qualities, extra-curricular activities, and a high level of academic success.
A student member of the American College of Apothecaries, Derrick’s pharmacy practice goal has always been to own and practice in his own independent compounding pharmacy. While at Regis, Derrick served as Vice President and Legislative Liaison for the Student Chapter of the National Community Pharmacists Association and Class Representative to the Regis University Student Government. Derrick was also instrumental in founding a student chapter of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and spearheaded the University’s involvement in the Medicsa Student Pharmacist Compounding Competition. Derrick also has significant work experience in independent pharmacy, both in Colorado and Texas.
